Baked Hot Wings
4 to 5 pound bag of frozen chicken wings (just rinse under cold water, no need to thaw)
If you use fresh wings chop off the tip of each wing, and discard it. Chop the wing in half (cutting at the joint) to make 2 pieces.
1 stick of butter or margarine
1 12 oz bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce
Salt
Pepper
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
Place wings in large baking dish or aluminum pan
Sprinkle with salt and pepper
I put a little water in the bottom of the pan to keep them from sticking, plus it helps steam them a little
Bake about an hour, turn halfway thru with tongs, until brown and cooked. (a little less time if using fresh wings)
If there is a lot of liquid left after baking, pour it out of the pan when finished baking
Melt the butter or margarine in medium sized bowl in the microwave
Remove from microwave and pour in the bottle of hot sauce, mix
Dip each wing with tongs into sauce and place back in pan
Pour remaining sauce over wings
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and cook another 30 minutes at 350 degrees. This last step is what makes the wings so tender.
