Two girls, 16 and 19-years-old, have been rescued from a secret dungeon in Hebei province in China, where they've been held against their will since July, CNN reports.

The girls wrote several emergency notes, stuffing them into garbage bags, for example, hoping someone would come to their rescue. In fact, it was a note tucked into a broken television set that led to their release.

The girls were found naked and chained by their feet in an underground cellar. The dungeon was just two hundred meters from one of their homes.

Julie is right about a meter being a little bigger than a yardstick. 200 meters equals 218.7 yards. It also equals 656.2 feet.

Thank God they didn't give up and kept writing notes.

So that is a little more than 2 football fields. OMG, they were so close to home. Thank God someone actually checked the little note in the old TV and took action.
