Conway confirms he’s out of Anthony case

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Attorney Brad Conway, who has been representing Casey Anthony’s parents Cindy and George Anthony, has confirmed he will not longer be their attorney.

Early Monday Conway told FOX 35's Holly Bristow this has nothing to do with the Anthony’s or anything they've done. Instead he said it has everything to do with Casey’s attorney José Baez.

Could someone explain to me why Conway had to step down? Even if he gets called as a witness by NeJame, does that mean he can't still be the Ant's atty?

BTW, why did he need to look at TES's records?

i honestly dont know how this would cause conway to step down.

the defense is mistaken anyways.. conway was given the same access as the defense was granted, to LOOK through the records, not to copy or distribute them in any way.. he just happened to show up and look through them when the defense didnt bother.

i think this is a ruse.. not sure how it is supposed to work though... guess we will just have to wait and see

Conway said that a motion filed by the defense last week made regarding documents on 4,000 Texas Equusearch volunteers, Baez claimed that Conway was given unrestricted access to look at those documents but only if he got the Anthony’s to sign a waiver of conflict of interest.

Conway said that's not the case, the defense never spoke to him before filing the motion and now he could potentially be called as a witness by Texas Equusearch's attorney if the judge holds a hearing on the Texas Equusearch paperwork.

Texas Equusearch is fighting to keep Casey Anthonys' attorneys from getting unrestricted access to their search documents.

So did Conway actually look at the paperwork yet? I'm behind!

If he did look at them, did he see something in them that made him distrust his clients?

OR...did George decide to charge Conway for pushing his chair around?

I am watching In Session, and they keep giving info regarding this during the breaks of the Walker trial.

I still am having a problem understanding why he had to step down as their atty, even if he is going to be called as a witness at the hearing regarding Baez getting access to all the records. However, Conway said he did not have access to all the records.

I don't get it either.

This just gives Conway the excuse he's been looking for to exit this madness...... IMO

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An attorney has announced he will be leaving the case against Casey Anthony.

WESH 2 News has learned that the attorney for Caylee's grandparents George and Cindy Anthony, Brad Conway, will no longer be serving as the couple's attorney. He turned in a resignation letter Monday morning.

According to sources, Conway's move comes as a result of a new filing by Anthony's defense in their ongoing dispute with Texas Equusearch.

In that filing, Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's attorney, claims Conway was given unrestricted access to review 4,000 pages of volunteer documents while the defense has not been given the same access.

"The defense motion filed on August 9, 2010 contains allegations that are not in fact true. As an officer of the court I cannot stand idly by knowing allegations involving me have been misstated. I am now a witness to an innacurate legal pleading filed in our court system. As such, I cannot continue in good conscience as a legal representative," Conway's letter said.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The attorney representing the parents of Casey Anthony, who is charged with murdering her daughter, Caylee, has stepped down, citing what he called false allegations made by Anthony's defense team.

Brad Conway, who represents George and Cindy Anthony, announced on Monday that he's resigning as a result of a defense motion filed last week by Casey Anthony's defense in a dispute with Texas Equusearch, the group who helped search for Caylee.

In the filing, Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's lead attorney, claims Conway was given unrestricted access to review thousands of pages of volunteer documents while the defense has not been given equal access.

With regret I am forced to resign as George and Cindy Anthonys attorney. The defense motion filed on August 9, 2010 contains allegations that are not in fact true. As an officer of the court I cannot stand idly by knowing allegations involving me have been misstated. I am now a witness to an innacurate legal pleading filed in our court system. As such, I cannot continue in good conscience as a legal representative. George and Cindy Anthony have done nothing improper, it is the failure of the defense to verify the facts alleged in their motion that forces my withdrawal. I will continue to support the Anthonys, will continue to attend hearings and the eventual trial and most importantly I will continue to search for the full truth regarding the killing of Caylee Marie Anthony.

Casey Anthony's parents: Attorney Brad Conway parts ways with George and Cindy Anthony

The lawyer who has represented Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, told the Orlando Sentinel this morning he is no longer representing the couple.

"With regret I am forced to resign as George and Cindy Anthonys attorney," Brad Conway stated in an e-mail.

Conway said a motion filed by Casey Anthony's defense earlier this month contains untrue allegations involving him.

The lawyer for slain Florida toddler Caylee Anthony's grandparents has resigned, saying false statements have been made about him in a defense motion.

Brad Conway announced his withdrawal from the case today, saying he can no longer represent Cindy and George Anthony. Their daughter, Casey Anthony, is accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Conway, who's been on the case for 19 months, told several news outlets today he's off the case because of an Aug. 9 defense motion that alleges he got special treatment in reviewing records that detail a search for Caylee in Orlando, Fla.

NBC's "Today" show said the records could answer whether a search team looked in woods near the girl's house and found nothing, only to have the girl's remains be found there four months later. If that's true, Casey Anthony's defense questions how she could have dumped the remains in the woods because she was under constant police surveillance at the time, NBC said.

So...she was under constant police surveillance during the 30/31 days Caylee was missing...NOT...Baez doesn't think before he comments...Does he think we are all stoopid??? Poor Caylee was DUMPED long before Cindy located KC and KC wasn't under surveillance until she was bonded out by Mr. Padilla...Come on...get real..!!!!

Estee, she did have an ankle monitor on during that time she was out on bond, so she was, in effect, under surveillance. Maybe that is what he meant. I don't think he meant the 31 days during which KC never reported Caylee missing.

But that also implies that the State is suggesting that KC dumped Caylee's body in the woods off Surburban during the time she was out on bond. Not so..... I agree with you, Caylee was dumped in June, long before any of us ever heard of the little cherub.

The Anthonys dumped Nejame in favor of Conway???????? Where the heck did that come from? Oh wait... of course, the ever truthful Anthonys themselves, no doubt.

Whether Nejame resigned as the Anthony attorney versus the Anthonys dumped Nejame is a little like..... Oprah declined to have the Anthonys on her show versus the Anthonys decided not to appear on Oprah because of integrity!!!!!

Anyone want to take bets on who is next in line to represent the A's???

I'm betting that Cindy's new BFF, Jim Lichtenstein, will get her an attorney. He appears to be in this mess for the long haul. He must have been promised something really big at the end of it all.
