Caylee Anthony’s Body Language Showed She Wasn’t Comfortable, Didn’t Like, or Relate to Casey as She Did to Grandmother Cindy

September 2, 2010
Dr. Lillian Glass

By now we are all aware of Caylee Anthony’s grandmother, Cindy Anthony’s manipulative comments. During television interviews and in a court of law, she has repeated that she believes Caylee is still alive when she knows that it is utter nonsense. In fact you can clearly see her signals of deception with pursed lips and shoulder shrug in the above photo right after she made the preposterous statement about Caylee being alive.

Adding to Cindy’s nonsense are her statements about what a great mother Casey was to Caylee and how much Caylee adored Casey.

But if you really examine at the photos of Caylee and Casey together from Caylee’s birth until the end of her young and innocent life, you can see that it certainly does not look as though a. Casey was such a great mother or b. that Caylee adored Casey. In fact it looks to me that little Caylee couldn’t stand Casey. In many of the photos she couldn’t wait to get away from Casey.

Based on my observations of the photos I will show you of Casey and Caylee throughout the years, it doesn’t look like there was a lot of Tender Loving Care or motherly bonding on Casey’s end. Instead, it looked like there was a lot of Tender Self Loving Posing on Casey’s part. You can see this in the above photo, which was one of the last photos taken of little Caylee. Casey is posing with a fake grin, while a serious looking Caylee does not look very happy at all.

But there was definitely TLC and bonding between Caylee and grandmother Cindy throughout Caylee’s young and precious life as you will see. Look at this photo above. You can see the genuine love and happiness on Caylee’s face and on Cindy’s face as well. These are genuine happy smiles.

CINDY AND CAYLEE’S REALTIONSHIP

Perhaps the lack of bonding may be due to Cindy’s interference early on, where she was the first to hold newborn C aylee . Cindy took charge of the illegitimate baby Casey produced right away. It seems to me that Cindy had a huge hand in naming the baby- Caylee. It is a combination of her two children Casey and Lee, hence Caylee. Naming a baby also adds to the bonding process. So if Casey had no part in naming the baby, that was one less element in the bonding process with her daughter.

In the above photo as baby Caylee lies in Cindy’s arms, you see Cindy affectionately kissing Caylee as she sleeps comfortably and nuzzles into Cindy’s body . Part of the bonding process involves smell. So if Caylee was mostly nuzzled into Cindy and smelling her instead of her birth mom Casey, chances are that baby Caylee bonded with Cindy and not Casey. Besides Cindy’s smell, Caylee must have felt the intense love towards her from grandma Cindy, unlike the non- love or emptiness must have felt when she was in Casey’s arms.

In looking at the photo above you can see how early on in her life, when she as being held by Casey, Caylee seemed to want to get away. She doesn’t nuzzle into Casey’s body, but turns away instead. She also clenches her little fist in anger and makes a facial expression indicating discomfort and upset. This photo shows that she is clearly not bonded with Casey.

In looking at this photo with Cindy and Caylee you can see how Cindy absolutely adores Caylee and dotes on her. Little Caylee seems so happy and confortable around Cindy. Even her litttle shoulder is nuzzled into Cindy. Cindy had a warm grasp on the child’s lower body as she pulls Caylee towards her.

And finally this photo above says it all when it comes to Caylee and Cindy. You can feel the love and affection between both of them. Caylee feels so comfortable around Cindy that she easily places her elbow on grandma’s lap as they lean into one another. Caylee is genuinely happy and so is Cindy.

CASEY HATED CAYLEE FOR TAKING AWAY CINDY’S LOVE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR HER

Perhaps there was so much resentment by Casey while seeing that Caylee’s was being given all of Cindy’s love and attention over and over again that it was too much for Casey to handle. Perhaps that may be the reason why Casey didn’t think twice about getting rid of her daughter. Perhaps deep down she perceived Casey as her number one competition. So she had to destroy her forever.

The fact that she consistently refused to tell Cindy what happened to Caylee even hours after she arrived home without Caylee in tow , even after brother Lee pleaded with her, speaks to how she knew Caylee was the light of Cindy’s life. She knew that Caylee’s absence was devastating Cindy. She obviously relished seeing Cindy’s agony. That is why she refused to tell what happened to Caylee. Nothing made Casey happier than sadistically toying with her mother’s emotions just like she felt Cindy was toying with her emotions by loving Caylee more than her.

Further evidence of the competition Casey felt between herself and Caylee was clearly revealed in the jailhouse tapes. Cindy brought up how Caylee liked to eat bagels. Casey immediately interjected , “what about me, I like to eat them too!” Another revealing statement was when Casey said that she was Caylee. Talk about over identification!

Caylee Anthony’s Body Language In Disturbing Video Shows Casey’s Emotional As She Utters Words “I Kill”

September 5, 2010
Dr. Lillian Glass

Before I analyze this video of need to address some issues about professionalism and speculation and my blog. The body language analyses I make in these blog is based on, my background, research, education, and close to three decades experience and knowledge which allow me to render certain opinions about how I see certain and body language and communication behaviors.

Blogs are a reflection of one’s opinion where editorialize is accepted and the norm. Even scientific journal articles involve speculation regarding proven or unproven theories. So for those of you who write to me I can assure you that I will continue to share my opinions and thoughts in these blogs as well as providing you with my knowledge concerning objective data that I observe.

The first editorial comment I will make with regard to this video is that it made me terribly sad. In fact, it brought tears to my eyes and left me with a sick feeling in my stomach and a heaviness in my heart as I saw how this poor child was neglected both verbally and emotionally.

Having spent the early part of my career studying speech and language development, it is essential for anyone interacting with a child to visualize with them. That is how a child develops their speech an language skills.

In Cayleey’s case Casey does not interact with her. She does not respond to Caylee’s singing or verbalizing. Instead, she continues to shoot a video, observing her like one would observe a zoo animal. It sickened me.

What shocked me even more was that the only time Casey interacted with Caylee. she uttered a word as if to question what Caylee said. She questioned whether her child was saying the words ” “I kill? ” I could not believe my ears!

Caylee had emotional needs in this video that were clearly not being met . These needs were ignored. To me that is cruel and abusive.

As you will see in my analysis and in looking at the video, Caylee wanted affection and verbal interaction. She wanted love. She wanted to be picked up, especially at the end of the video as you will see, but she was completely ignored .This behavior on Casey’s part was sadistic in my view. It was obviously of preview of horrible things to come.

For those of you who write to me to simply be contentious or to tell me that you know more, or to stick up for Caysey saying that photos exist showing Casey smiling with Caylee or Caylee reaching out to her mother, I say look closer. There are a lot of ” tells” which show that Caylee was hungry for Casey’s love and it was not reciprocated.

Often it is not just the fact that someone is smiling in a photo that determines whether they are happy inside or not. One has to look at subtle body language tells from facial nuances to body positioning and body language nuances.

I am sure that watching this video will clear up your concerns once and for all as to whether you think Casey was a good and loving mother to Caylee. After watching this sickening video I don’t believe she was a loving mother . A loving and caring mother verbalizes and interacts with their child. They do not ignore a child as you will see by clicking the link below .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDoeJm74dd4

If you look at the first photo above, you will see that Caylee begins to have a frustrated concerned look on her face as she is sitting in her high chair with individual pieces of cereal spead ou , along with her her baby bottle. She is verbalizing and singing. She verbalizes and sings what sound like “Ah keyeh”

Since the /s/ sounds aren’t yet formed in a child of that age, it may be her attempt to say “ A kiss” Maybe she is asking Casey who is filming this video for a kiss to indicate that she is loved. In the photo above you see the beginnings of her frustration and tenseness by her little furrowed brow as she is ignored by Casey.

I read that babies begin making language sounds by eight months of age. What they need is for the parent to "parrot back" the sound they made. When the parent parrots back the sound, the child's language development flourishes.

Studies show that children of deaf parents begin making "language sounds" but because deaf parents can not parrot back, the linguistic learning is slowed significantly.

I HATE how Caylee, about 3/4 the way through this video demonstrates how she is "at home being ignored".

I hate it Mad more than I can ever express, and those who know me best, know why.

Snipped from Dr. Glass's article:

I listened to that video I don't know how many times, and I could never hear KC saying anything. Did anyone else hear it, and if so, at about what marker?

It broke my heart to see Caylee so desperate for interaction with her mother.... and to be simply ignored.

I agree with you Snaz, I never once heard KC say anything in that video. However, Dr. Glass even tells when it actually happens, but I have went to that video several times and cannot hear KC.

Around 33 seconds into this video Casey zooms in as you above and you hear her ask in a questioning tone utttering the word ”I Kill? It is shocking.

At 32 seconds, you hear the sound again, but it doesn't sound like KC, it sounds like Caylee saying it with the cookie in her mouth.

I thought maybe Dr. Glass was mistaken about the marker time, since I couldn't hear a thing out of KC's mouth. Glad to know it isn't just me...

Thanks, sitemama.

I turned it up loud. Some people say it is easier to hear with headphones. I heard "I" at 32 seconds and "kill" at 33 seconds. At first I thought "I" was a child's voice, but it sounded more like the voice that said "kill." IMO, Caylee's voice is distinctly different than the voice that said "I kill." Also, Caylee has her mouth stuffed with food while "I kill" is spoken and is barely moving her mouth.

At 31 seconds, you see Caylee about to stuff a large piece of food in her mouth.

At 32 seconds, Caylee's mouth is full while the word "I" is being spoken.

At 33 seconds, Caylee's mouth is still full while the word "kill" is spoken.

I cut the video down to where I heard Casey say "I kill."

I can hear it loud & clear at the 32 & 33 second mark, while Caylee is putting the food into her mouth.

More Body Language Analysis of Caylee Anthony Indicating Frustration and Sadness When Ignorned by Alleged Videographer Casey Anthony

September 6, 2010

There is yet another disturbing videotape that Casey allegedly filmed when Caylee was a bit older than the photo of her in the high chair. It shows Caylee’s hunger for affection and shows her being ignored even though she tried everything to be noticed by the videographer who is no doubt Casey.

Not a sound was uttered by anyone but Caylee. It was as though someone was filming an animal in a zoo and watching their behavior. There was no human contact whatsoever. Children at any age need constant verbalization and interaction. The fact that such an innocent and precious child was so frustrated by this as you will see in the video and in the screen shots is disheartening.

First you see Caylee spread eagle with her legs apart and her training diaper exposed. I bring this up in light of the last video where Casey filmed Caylee’s crotch area for a considerable length of time. I am not accusing Caylee of anything here. I am just making an observation.

Caylee gives a wide eyed expression as if she is wondering what will happen along with a half smile as she verbalizes “keeh” which may indicate that she wants a kiss or wants to give a kiss. Her eyes are not smiling. She just has a slight smile on her lips, The smile not crooked which indicates ambivalence.

Her expression immediately changes as she waits for an answer. She gets no verbal answer. Perhaps she got a nonverbal answer with a head shake from alleged videographer Casey indicating “no” as he facial expression shows her dejection.

The above article is very disturbing to me and I do hope this is just an opinion and not one of fact. If it's truly factual, then this would call for the prisoner to die by lethal injection, IMO...I always stated LWOP would be better for Inmate Anthony so she can live every day of the rest of her life missing the "bella vida" she strived to acheive...she had other options and should have handed this baby over to her parents to love, care, nurture but then again, we see how the prisoner turned out! JMHO

As long as Caylee recieves justice, I truly don't care what sentence this looser gets...JMHO

OMG, this would have been absolutely (to use KC's word) terrible. Look at the job they did with KC, they would have just produced another KC, and I see by your last words you realized that too.

What should have been done, was CA not be so controlling, and allowed KC to put Caylee up for adoption where she would have had two loving parents and a wonderful life.
