Prosecution releases Casey Anthony discovery information Tuesday

Prosecutors plan to release supplemental discovery information Tuesday in the Casey Anthony case.

The information will be released Tuesday morning at Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar's office, according to spokeswoman Danielle Tavernier.

"Because of various types of digital media formats, the information is contained only on disc and copies can only be made on disc," Tavernier said in a statement announcing the release of the records.

She later said the information on the discs to be released includes audio interviews and photos.

WFTV-Ch. 9 and WESH-Ch. 2 reported that more documents in the case will be released Tuesday.

***WFTV reported that former meter reader Roy Kronk’s phone records are expected to be included; he found Caylee Anthony’s remains and talked to his son about the discovery. “We may also get to see inmate R0byn Adams’ phone calls,” anchor Martie Salt said. “Adams told investigators that Casey talked to her in jail about using chloroform to put Caylee to sleep when she wanted to go out and party.”

***WESH anchor Jim Payne said that evidence will be out Tuesday morning, and that a spokeswoman for the state attorney’s office said a disc will contain audio and video. “At least some of the information is expected to be interviews with members of the volunteer group Texas EquuSearch,” Payne said. That group searched for Caylee.

New Details To Emerge In Anthony Case
Audio, Images To Be RelEased; Defense Questions Lab

ORLANDO, Fla. -- New details are emerging in the case against Casey Anthony as the state gears up to release audio and video while the defense team questions lab evidence.

On Tuesday morning, the state attorney's office will release a pair of CDs filled with audio interviews and pictures.

Local 6 plans to pick up the files and begin reporting on their contents starting at noon.

While those files are being released, Anthony's defense team will be in Tennessee, interviewing scientists from the Oak Ridge Lab.

Pictures, audio interviews are released

Prosecutors this morning released additional evidence in the Casey Anthony case.

Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar's office just released a computer disc said to include audio interviews and photos.

The Orlando Sentinel has received a copy but has not yet reviewed its contents.

Casey Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old child, Caylee Marie. The child's remains were found in late 2008, months after she was reported missing by her family. The trial is scheduled to start in May.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers explain why they didn’t find Caylee

WESH’s Michelle Meredith highlighted the comments from EquuSearch volunteers. “That area where the remains were found was underwater,” volunteer Tony Rovinsky said in an interview with investigators.

Volunteer Richard Creque said he “got a whiff of something that didn’t belong” where the remains were found and added that he had dreams about the spot.

WFTV-Ch. 9’s Kathi Belich said that volunteer Joe Jordan told investigators that his team “never fully searched the woods” because it was knee-deep in water.

And WKMG-Ch. 6’s Mike DeForest quoted yet another volunteer searcher, Jennifer Conaway, who said the woods were so flooded in August 2008 that it was impossible to walk through the spot. (Caylee’s remains were found in December 2008.)

DeForest explained, “If true, that might hurt the defense’s theory that Caylee Anthony’s body was placed there months after her disappearance.”

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A witness told authorities that while Casey Anthony was out on bail, her father unsuccessfully tried to find out from her what happened to her missing 2-year-old daughter.

Prosecution documents released Tuesday include a 2009 audio interview of a Texas woman who helped search for Caylee Anthony. Lisa Hoffman says she heard from other people who were in the home that George Anthony went into his daughter's bedroom, before Caylee's body was found, demanding to know what happened to her. Hoffman says she was told that he grew frustrated when he didn't get answers.

New photos, video and audio released as evidence

ORLANDO -- Prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony have released new documents, including photos, audio and video files as evidence.

Tuesday’s release contained audio interviews Orange County sheriff’s investigators conducted with seven people who searched in the area where the remains of Casey’s daughter, Caylee, were later found -- as well as a discussion with a woman who worked at the Kid Finder’s tent set up shortly after the 2-year-old was first reported missing.

In one interview, Joe Jordan, one of the search leaders, stated that the water was knee-deep in September 2008, and they called off the search because the area was flooded.

Pictures, audio interviews are released

Prosecutors this morning released additional evidence in the Casey Anthony case, providing fresh insight into detective interviews with some key witnesses in the child murder investigation.

Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar's office released a computer disc this morning including audio interviews, some video and photos.

Some of the discovery released today includes video and images by Casey Anthony case follower Joy Wray. Video shows her planting a flower at a makeshift memorial for her child Caylee Anthony. The Altamonte Springs woman thrust herself into the Anthony criminal case with blog posts and YouTube videos.

The discovery released today also includes pictures of Casey Anthony with a guitar and Caylee. That photo came from an ex-boyfriend's computer.

The information released today also includes audio interviews with Texas EquuSearch searchers and volunteers who helped try to find Caylee in 2008.

One of the searchers, Joe Jordan, describes the wooded area off Suburban Drive being knee-deep with water in early September 2008.

"The water, the water was just too much," he says at one point during his phone interview with a case investigator.

At another point, Jordan says, "We only searched along Suburban Drive. We didn't go into the deep wooded area that…where my understanding is the body was found."

The defense team has raised the question of whether Caylee's remains were at the site where they were found in late 2008 when Casey was in custody and could not have placed the body there.

Jordan was among the people who searched that general location, but he emphasized that he thought his search was 40 or 50 feet away from where the remains were ultimately found.

Jordan also made a secretly recorded tape while he was interviewed by a Casey Anthony defense investigator.

He later turned the recording over to law enforcement. In Florida, it's illegal to record someone without their knowledge.

Much of the conversation he had with law enforcement in the documents released today deal with that recording. The investigators urge Jordan not to destroy or delete the recording. They also tell him that he broke the law in making the recording, something he was apparently unsure about.

"Joe, you broke the law when you did it," one of the detectives tells him. "Don't break another one by destroying it…We just don't want you to get rid of it because it is evidentiary."

Jordan said he made the recording for his own notes. Several times he expressed regret for getting involved in the Casey Anthony case at all.

"We should have all just stayed out of this and let you guys do your job," Jordan said during the interview on Oct. 28, 2009, which lasted slightly more than an hour. "I regret now even going out."

The investigators also expressed concern about another searcher who had contacted Jordan and the possibility that Texas EquuSearch forms had been fabricated.

Documents: Casey's Friends Cashed In On Caylee

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's friends made money off little Caylee's murder. It came out in documents released in the case Tuesday.

Two of Casey's friends, at least one of them an ex-boyfriend, negotiated with the tabloid The Globe, trying to make hundreds of dollars by selling their photos of Casey and Caylee and make extra for quotes.

JP Chatt and Casey's former boyfriend, Ricardo Morales, negotiated with The Globe by email less than a month after it was learned that Caylee was missing.
