Fortney: Claresholm Murder-Suicide A Tough Blow to the Small Town


Gwen Donovan’s coffee shop is about as busy a place you can find in a small town. By the noon hour each day, customers have to be quick on their feet to nab a table at the place she calls A Taste of Heaven.

On Thursday, though, there’s a frenzy of a different kind. “I knew it was going to be a strange day when the phone started ringing at 6 a.m.,” says the longtime area resident. “It was my Hutterite friends up the highway asking if I knew what was going on.”
